Experimental conditions may affect your study animals in ways you may not have considered. BASi’s Animal Activity Analysis software connects directly to our Culex NxT software or to the Raturn Activity Monitor and can be activated by a simple click of a button. Analyzing activity data can help you discover unforeseen neurological effects of compound administration, monitor day/night cycles based on level of activity, and more.

The combination of software and hardware captures data on turning and rearing behavior of an animal while it is tethered in the system. This is not a behavioral collection system; the system does not  capture every movement of the animal. However, it is possible to capture baseline activity and use that information for comparative analysis. This kind of information is especially useful for studies involving CNS compounds. It is easy to see changes in pre-dose and post-dose activity levels, and even possible to correlate that to drug pharmacokinetic profiles, as demonstrated here.
